| Draped bodice: 2 hours

| Draped bodice for about an hour... The bodice I have decided is princess seamed with kind of a mandarin collar, and I practiced making Chinese Ball Buttons for the closure in the back and found that I could actually make them, so I'll be using that. I'll be working on my pattern and the first muslin draft of the vest bodice with sleeves tomorrow. The skirt I am going to need to figure out how to attach that to the inside a few inches up from the bottom instead of just sewing it to the bottom of the bodice. I'd like it to look separate, as if the microsuede "vest" is a separate piece, but have it all attached as one so it stays aligned where I want it. I chose to do it this way because I feel building one whole dress with a separate bodice will add too much bulk, as there will also be a velvet poncho and a cincher on top of all this, and the vest and dress are meant to be worn as one anyway.
