Star Wars: Fit for a Queen

A New Hope: For the formal award ceremony to recognize the heroes of the Battle of Yavin, Princess Leia wears a beautiful white gown whose color symbolizes her youth and innocence.

Design: Whereas Leia's other ANH costume was made by an outside costume company, this lovely gown was designed in studio. Costume designer John Mollo purposefully created a dress that while beautiful, was not over-the-top or ornate: "We didn't want anything very regal or complicated or heavily bejeweled or aggressively ethnic - just a smarter version of what she was wearing before." The stunning silver necklace and bracelet worn with this gown where purchased from a London jeweler.
