Star Wars: Fit for a Queen

Revenge of the Sith: Like Amidala and Jamilla before her, the young Queen Apailana of Naboo wears a traditional and elaborate gown. Her grey Chersilk mourning robe and grey-feathered headdress are beautifully embellished with embroidery and beading, but they are also appropriately somber for the funeral of Naboo's beloved Amidala. To further express the grief of her people, Apailana has two small jewel "tears" at the corners of her eyes. Her blue makeup, which includes the traditional "Scar of Remembrance" on her lower lip, is another indicator of the sobriety of the situation. The blue streaks running through her eyes point to tears shed over Amidala's death.

Design: Apailana's gown for Amidala's funeral is a tribute to the dead queen, as it closely resembles her Pre-Senate Gown from The Phantom Menace. While done in metallic fabrics, the design is incredibly similar. Check out this picture for a comparison between these two gowns!
